Oscar De la Renta worked for Jane Derby in 1965 before buying the company in 1969 and changing it to his own label

I think this was one of the prettier pieces he designed while there and does indeed have that Blass feel to it

Bust: no true side seam but the front covers to approximately 18" flat across from side seam to side seam

It has no closures to indicate how it was meant to be worn and I played with it on the dress form to shape it into a extremely dramatic cape

I love how the waist is slightly gathered

Resort 1976 Halston Couture Pastel Peach Silk Chiffon One Shoulder Spiral Dress designer-victor-costa Oscar De la Renta workedIts near twin was seen in the Resort 1976 collection Under the creative direction of Roy Halston Made of two layers of silk chiffon that spiral around each other. The top layer is a pale peach and the inner layer a softer paler version of the same colour. Completely cut on the bias so has lots of movement and is an easy fit across a range of sizes. It hooks at the top of one shoulder and then simply drapes around you. There is a panel that extends out
