Thunder Bay Canadian Amethyst - Rust Red Gemstone This Delicate Purple Indonesian GrapeCanadian Amethyst is also known as Thunder Bay Amethyst or Red Cap amethyst. This crystal is found only in a very localized area of Thunder Bay in Ontario. This unique crystal is immediately recognized with its covering of hematite which gives it its rich dark grainy rust red appearance. When seen edge on the underlying traditional purple amethyst is clearly visible. The caps are densely packed and sharply pointed. This specimen has a high density of
