Recumbent Stylised Armorial Unicorn Furniture Norske drikkekar av tre: UniversitetsforlagetSolid Cast Iron English c. 1840 16. 5 high x 25 wide x 2. 5 deep A good size and well modelled example of a classic armorial Unicorn mantel ornament, in solid cast iron. Now with a supporting bracket to the reverse side. The surface is oxidised and shows evidence of age, commensurate of cast iron work of the period, but there is no evidence of significant damage or repair. This example has the original cast horn intact and has good sculptural form.
